From campsites to guest houses and hotels, Llanberis is the perfect base to stay and explore Snowdonia National Park. The village has a wide range of eating establishments from fine dining to takeaways and cafes serving great food and drinks.

There are shops to buy provisions, outdoor paraphernalia and interesting specialist shops.

From Llanberis you can ride a train up Snowdon or along the shore of Llyn Padarn. Go underground to see the workings of Electric Mountain, visit the Slate Museum and Quarry Hospital, see our magnificent waterfall, explore Padarn Country Park and visit the 13th century Dolbadarn Castle. The Sword of the Giants is a new addition to the lakeside; it is based on a 13th/14th century design attributed to the Princes of Gwynedd.

Water activities, high ropes course and diving are all possible within the Gilfach Ddu area, at Y Glyn there is a pontoon to launch kayaks and paddleboards, swimming is also great fun in the waters of Llyn Padarn which has a European bathing water designation.

Llanberis is an area rich in history, myths and legends. It has a very strong cultural heritage with the Welsh language spoken widely in local families and businesses.
