Padarn Country Park set amongst the dramatic scenery of Snowdonia is an ideal place to sample what the countryside can offer. Contained within its 800 acres are Coed Allt Wen woodlands and Llyn Padarn - two Sites of Special Scientific Interest of national importance, a Local Nature Reserve and unique attractions. The combination of local industrial heritage and natural environment in this one place provides a unique recreational facility and a great day out for everyone.

Trails - The Park offers a range of themed trails ranging from a 5 mile trail around Llyn Padarn, shorter Nature Trails amongst the woodland, an Industrial Archaeological trail centred around the Vivian quarry or the Kingfisher Trail suitable for wheelchair users, Trail leaflets available.

Boating - Motorised craft are not permitted on Llyn Padarn, but if you'd like to bring your own canoe or sailboat Launching Permits are available from the Park Wardens or from the Information Kiosk sited at Gilfach Ddu.

Fishing - The local angling association issue day permits for fishing the lake.
You can also watch a Rock Climbers scramble up the rock face and Sub Aqua Divers plumb the depths of the Vivian Quarry or you can picnic on the lake shore.

The Quarry Hospital Museum - The pioneering Dinorwig Quarry Hospital is now a museum housing some of the original equipment from the 1800's. Restored Ward and Operating Theatre, original X-Ray Machine and other bits of gruesome medical equipment, park related exhibitions and a Mortuary! Enjoy tea on the terrace overlooking the lake with Snowdon as the backdrop - truly magnificent!

Padarn Country Park also contains the National Slate Museum (tel: 01286 870630) and the Llanberis Lake Railway (01286 870549), and is the departure point for a lake cruise on the Snowdonia Star (Tel: 07974 716418).
